Position Wanted: Occupational Therapist

Type of Employment: Independent Contractor

Hours: Days and times self-scheduled, per therapist’s preference.

Minimums: Request minimum of 5 hours direct kid contact time (therapy sessions) per week at our new east-side location. (A much larger caseload would be easy to build.) Request minimum of two initial evaluations per week at our main clinic near downtown Wichita. Before or after school, “bank holidays” and weekend hours are permitted, if desired.

Requirements: Kansas OT License, NBCOT board certified. Notable & relevant pediatric clinical OT experience, preferably 3+ years.

Qualities Needed:

  • Playful & dynamic, with professional work ethic.
  • Timely and accurate with therapy documentation.
  • Able to work independently with minimal to no supervision (although mentoring in our specialty areas is available).
  • Must be able to empower and educate caregivers for home carryover of strategies.
  • A therapist whose primary goal is the job satisfaction of improving lives for children and their families.


Preferences:

  • Long-term position.
  • Strong sensory background. Experience with reflex integration and or feeding.
  • Unfortunately, we are not looking to hire a COTA at this time.

  • Working with children preemie to teen, with most common ages being from 2 to 12, and diagnoses can include: autism; SPD; picky eating; learning disabilities; Down Syndrome; CP; handwriting difficulties; delays with fine motor, visual motor, perceptual, or oculomotor skills; emotional regulation difficulties; executive function disorders; and various other physical and developmental disabilities
  • Loyal families and children who develop long-term relationships with their therapist
  • Expansion of your clinical skills
  • Collaboration with other OTs and professionals of different disciplines (physical therapy, speech therapy, counseling, play therapy…)
  • Fun team-building activities, including volunteering in the community, occasional social outings, team-earned luncheons, and in-clinic events to enhance the easy-going rapport among therapists and staff
  • Billing office to manage credentialing, authorizations, insurance verification, invoicing, claim submissions, invoicing, and all financial matters…so you don’t have to!

Hours: Varies with type of position; Grow-as-you-go caseload

Requirements: Kansas SLP License, ASHA board certified, must already have your CCCs. Notable & relevant pediatric clinical speech & language experience, preferably 2+ years.
